Special one-off live date with his acclaimed Acoustic Band
Huntingdon Hall, Worcester – 30 November 2023

Steve Harley, known for his charismatic performances, has announced a special live date with his acclaimed Acoustic Band at Huntingdon Hall on November 30th. With a reputation for selling out venues across the UK and Europe, Steve continues to captivate audiences with his music. The Times, recognizing his half-century career, hailed his signature hit “Make Me Smile (Come Up And See Me)” as one of the most beloved songs of the modern age. For Steve, life on the road is not just a job but a vital part of his existence.

Joining Steve in the 2023 Acoustic Band lineup are his long-standing band-mate, violinist/guitarist Barry Wickens, along with Oli Hayhurst on double bass and Dave Delarre on lead guitar. After more than 50 years of performing live around the world, Steve still experiences the same excitement when stepping onto the tour bus as he did all those years ago. The magic of performing in new places for different audiences has not diminished one bit. He shares, “There’s still that magical feeling. It has not diminished at all.”

The acoustic set will feature songs from his recent album “Uncovered,” which includes re-recordings of some of his own songs and nine others he has always wanted to perform. Additionally, a selection from the extensive and eclectic Harley Songbook will be showcased. Favorites like “Mr Soft,” “Judy Teen,” “Sebastian,” and the legendary “Make Me Smile” will be presented in the unique acoustic style. Close-Up Culture, reflecting on an Acoustic Band show, described it as an intimate evening in the presence of a remarkable musician. Steve’s undiminished passion for live performance and his pursuit of perfection are evident, etched on his face throughout the show.

Rod Stewart, who covered Steve’s song ‘A Friend For Life’, describes him as “One of the finest lyricists Britain has produced.”

Steve has previously received a Lifetime Achievement Award for Acoustic Music from the Acoustic Festival of Britain, and a prestigious Gold Badge of Merit from the British Academy of Composers and Songwriters.
