The Sunflower Lounge plays host to a night built for sweat‑drenched chaos and cathartic noise as Beach Bønes headline on Saturday, 21st February, joined by Worcester punks Pegging Mitchell and Birmingham duo Sick of the Riot.
London’s Beach Bønes arrive with a mission: to play the loudest, wildest punk shows possible. Formed by long time friends Beau McCarthy and Jack Purbrick, the band grew out of years spent in separate projects before finally joining forces.
After Beau’s Californian punk outfit collapsed and a forced exit from the States, he returned home hungry to get back on stage. A few sessions with Jack proved they had something volatile and exciting on their hands. With Paul, the unhinged American bassist, and Sam, the razor sharp, quick witted guitarist, the lineup was complete. Expect high‑energy punk built for cramped rooms, flying elbows and zero restraint.
Main support comes from Pegging Mitchell, Worcester’s snarling, riff‑driven punks known for their righteous anger, melodic bite and shout along choruses. With a mantra of “angry songs for angry she’s and they’s,” they bring sharp wit, big hooks and a fierce sense of identity to every set.
Opening the night are Birmingham two piece Sick of the Riot, channelling the punchy, hook‑laden spirit of early 2000s punk rock. Their sound is nostalgic without feeling dated: fast, catchy and built for bouncing off the walls. Three bands, one tiny room, and absolutely no chance of staying still. A proper punk night at The Sunflower Lounge. Advance tickets available now.
