Bugeye, MeMe Detroit + Phwoar
Friday, 16th January – The Victoria, Birmingham
Doors Open: 7:30 pm
London’s Bugeye headline The Victoria on Friday, 16th January, delivering their trademark dirty pop punk sound laced with disco beats, sizzling synths, buzz saw guitars and punchy vocal hooks. With a lineup of Angela, Paula, Lex, Ana and Kat, the band channels the spirit of St Vincent, Bones UK, ARXX and Wet Leg, creating a live show that’s both fierce and irresistibly fun.
Main support comes from Midlands trio MeMe Detroit, the creators of “Uplift Angsthems.” Fronted by British/Latina multi-instrumentalist Maria Rodriguez, with drummer Kallum McEwen and bassist Abbie Welch, the band bridges grunge grit, indie swagger and blues rock heart. Their dynamic performances are raw, cathartic and electrifying, building a wall of sound that defies their size.
Opening the night are Birmingham’s own Phwoar, a fizzy alternative indie rock two-piece with infectious DIY spirit and catchy tunes. With their EP Flowers Through the Concrete released in 2025 and a successful first UK headline tour under their belt, Phwoar are quickly establishing themselves as one of the city’s most exciting new acts. Expect a night of bold hooks, high-energy performances and grassroots spirit. Advance tickets available now.
