John MOuse is heading to Drummonds, Worcester, on Wednesday 15th May, bringing his brilliantly off-kilter live show to the city for a night of unique, genre-defying music. A true underground icon from Cardiff, John MOuse (not to be confused with John Maus or the reggae artist of the same name) is known for his sharp wit, raw lyrics, and ever-evolving sound.
Over the course of six critically acclaimed studio albums, he’s worked with a revolving cast of collaborators including Sweet Baboo, Prince Edward Island, Los Campesinos! and TV’s Steve Jones. With over two dozen musicians having played with him live and in the studio, no two shows are ever the same, making each John MOuse gig a one-off experience packed with unexpected moments and emotional depth.
Support comes from The Arboretum, an intense and visually striking band whose cinematic post-punk and psychedelic rock fuses shimmering guitars, pounding rhythms, and haunting vocals. Their music carries a dark beauty, full of hope and tension, perfectly suited for uncertain times.
Opening the night is Valentich, an electronic post-rock artist whose sound draws comparisons to Jon Hopkins, Tycho, Bicep and Boards of Canada. Expect textured soundscapes, melodic techno pulses, and a set that feels as immersive as it is moving.
This is a night for true music lovers – experimental, emotional, and wholly original!
