Live Music in St. George’s Hall, Bewdley
Sunjay
Saturday, the 22nd of November 2025

The top-class music continues at the Bewdley venue this coming Saturday, the 22nd of November. Local bluesman Sunjay brings his outrageous finger-picking guitar style to the Hall, again, as part of an extensive tour which sees him playing dates across the UK, including Scotland, Sheffield, Kent and many points in between.

In the early stages of his career, Sunjay was one of those young musicians chosen by St. George’s Hall to open the show for touring USA based musicians. The hope is that Luke Pender, and the other talented young musicians the Hall promotes in the future, can achieve the successes that Sunjay has enjoyed.

Past show at St. George’s Hall

An enthusiastic audience in St. George’s Hall on Saturday 15th November was buzzing after a tremendous set by Oxford based band, The Dreaming Spires, supported by the uniquely talented local young musician Luke Pender.

St. George’s Hall has a well-established tradition of supporting young musicians by giving them the opportunity of performing the opening sets for the touring artists featured at their events. This time it was Luke Pender, a prodigiously talented pianist who attends the Bewdley School. On this occasion Luke put aside Bach and Chopin for riveting versions of pop classics such as Queen’s ‘Somebody to Love” and impressed not only the audience, but also the very accomplished musicians in The Dreaming Spires.

Dreaming Spires were playing the venue as part of a tour of the UK promoting their new album ‘Normal Town’, which deservedly was awarded 4 stars in the December issue of MOJO magazine. They played the new album in full, with the backdrop of a specially made film on the cinema screen in St. George’s Hall, before treating the audience to rousing versions of songs from previous albums.
