Krooked Tongue headline Drummonds on Tuesday. 27th January, in celebration of Independent Venue Week. The Bristol trio have carved out a fierce reputation since the release of their debut EP No Vacancy Hotel in 2022, a record that racked up over 200,000 streams and earned praise from Ones To Watch, Hard Beat Magazine and Distorted Sound.

Their follow up EP Deathproof pushed their sound into darker, sharper territory, showcasing a matured songwriting style that’s since attracted support from Louder Than War Radio, Sirius XM, BBC Introducing and more.

Krooked Tongue – Backseat Therapy

With festival appearances at Dot to Dot, Tallinn Music Week, Icebreaker and Burn It Down, plus a major support tour with Kid Brunswick in 2024, Krooked Tongue arrive at Drummonds with serious momentum behind them. Expect riffs, swagger and a set built for sweaty, intimate rooms, exactly what Independent Venue Week is all about.

Main support comes from Birmingham alt-rock outfit Rooted, self described as “grunge flavoured pop rock.” Their sound blends heavy edges with melodic hooks, offering a punchy, modern take on the genre that’s quickly earning them attention across the Midlands. The new single ‘(Pushing) Roses’ drops this week

Opening the night are Scottish Islands, bringing their brand of indie introspection shaped by “grown up greebos from England’s post industrial middle.” Named in honour of the Scottish indie bands that inspired them, their music swings between manic and calm, pairing emotional depth with jangling, atmospheric guitar work.

A perfect snapshot of the UK’s grassroots scene, loud, diverse, and full of rising talent, this Independent Venue Week show is set to be one of Drummonds’ standout nights of 2026. Tickets on sale now.
