Lieven Scheire
Worcester Swan Theatre on 12 March 2026
Belgium’s hugely popular stand-up comedian, physics buff and science communicator Lieven Scheire is heading back to the UK in spring 2026 with his explosive live show Artificial Intelligence. You can catch a glimpse of what’s in store by checking out the trailer.
Often dubbed “the secret love child of Stephen Fry and Dara O’Briain”, Scheire delivers a brilliantly unique blend of sharp wit and mind-expanding science. In Artificial Intelligence, he lifts the lid on one of the most fascinating – and occasionally frightening – technologies shaping our future, making even the trickiest concepts utterly digestible.
Scheire’s signature mix of humour and scientific insight has wowed audiences around the world, including a sold-out run at the 2015 Edinburgh Fringe with his show on Einstein’s theory of relativity. His latest show Artificial Intelligence has already been a smash hit in Belgium and the Netherlands, alongside a bestselling book of the same name, now available in both Dutch and English.
He’s also something of a favourite with the QI Elves, having appeared on their hit podcast No Such Thing as a Fish. Host Dan Schreiber even describes him as “the Stephen Fry of Belgium” — and it’s easy to see why.
Lieven Scheire: Artificial Intelligence introduces audiences to this new “superhero” of technology in an engaging, hilarious and enlightening way. Expect to discover how AI actually works, what it can already do, and where it’s heading next — all served with Scheire’s trademark charm and humour.
Since his Edinburgh debut, Lieven has become a familiar face on the UK science and comedy circuit, appearing at major events such as the Barbican’s Wikipedia Festival and the Pint of Science tour, performing at universities in London, Oxford and Cambridge. In 2023, he delivered a keynote at the Love Tomorrow Campus, an initiative by Tomorrowland, before taking his AI show to the Northern Ireland Science Festival and the Norwich Science Festival. His viral breakdown of why coriander tastes like soap to some people has clocked up millions of views on TikTok and Instagram.
Lieven is also the founder and face of Nerdland, a hugely popular science brand that has spawned best-selling books, hit TV shows, one of Belgium’s top podcasts, and the Nerdland Festival — now the largest science festival in the Benelux region, drawing over 25,000 visitors each year.
So, should we be excited or terrified by AI’s rise — or a bit of both? Find out for yourself (and have a proper laugh while you’re at it) at Lieven Scheire: Artificial Intelligence, touring the UK from March 2026.
