Advance Tickets available now

Gearing up for their first-ever headline UK tour, kicking off at The Victoria in Birmingham, Magnetic Skies are ready to take their spellbinding sound on the road. The band also announce the release of their brand-new album, Fragments, arriving 7th November.

Classic yet delightfully futuristic, Magnetic Skies have built a reputation for blending the shimmering nostalgia of darkwave and synthpop with a distinctly modern edge. Their acclaimed debut, Empire Falling (2023), earned glowing praise across the music press, applauded for its atmospheric fusion of vintage electronics and emotive songwriting.

The new album Fragments picks up where that record left off, exploring the fractures and tensions of modern life through a dramatic lens of analogue synths, pulsing basslines, and soaring vocals — an expansive, cinematic step forward for the band.

Magnetic Skies – Back To Life

Formed in 2019 by Simon Kent (vocals, keys) and Jo Womar (keys), Magnetic Skies began life as a studio project inspired by the post-punk and synth sounds of the 1980s. Their early EPs laid the foundations for a sound both evocative and visceral, built from vintage hardware and crafted emotion. With production helmed largely in-house by Kent and additional mixing from Rob Aubrey (Sex Pistols, Big Big Train, Asia), the band have cultivated a unique sonic identity that feels timeless yet strikingly fresh.

Supported by tastemakers such as Louder Than War, God Is In The TV, When The Horn Blows, and Backseat Mafia, and featured in Electronic Sound, Classic Pop, MusicRadar and more, Magnetic Skies have also shared the stage with Heaven 17, Empathy Test, Altered Images, and Then Jerico — now, they’re stepping into the spotlight on their own terms.

Fragments promises to be a defining chapter in the Magnetic Skies story — and with a full UK tour on the horizon, it’s the perfect time to experience their powerful, emotive electronica live.

Also joining the bill is Birmingham’s own Ray Heart, a singer-songwriter whose rich, velvety vocals and captivating guitar work conjure a sound that’s both haunting and deeply heartfelt. Drawing inspiration from legends like Stevie Nicks and David Bowie, Ray weaves 80s-infused drum grooves with raw, personal storytelling for a performance that’s honest, powerful, and impossible to ignore.

Kicking off the night are HaHa Hats, a genre-bending Birmingham trio whose sound is as playful as it is peculiar. Think warped melodies, off-kilter rhythms, and carnival-mirror pop that channels the surreal charm of Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band, the synth-laced strangeness of Gary Numan, and the theatrical grit of Nick Cave. Expect the unexpected as their set promises joyful chaos and glorious unpredictability.

Advance tickets to the album launch show are recommended and are available now.
