Henry Normal & Jan Brierton
Huntingdon Hall | 10th April 2026
A Night of Poetry…
Well, didn’t we have a Ball?
At the splendid Huntingdon Hall,
no, nothing at all stuffy or formal…
just a terrific night with Henry Normal!
We enjoyed the stories and anecdotes,
so much more than wordy antidotes,
a panacea for all of the world’s ills,
to help us forget our woes and bills!
The verses of free flowing poetry,
contained some amusing notoriety
such as buying a funeral off Amazon
oh, matron what a bloody carry-on
Whilst we chuckled at some stanzas,
some lines hit home like a row of Panzers,
granted the laughter was never far away
but at times the lines were emotional & wry
We were also joined on the night by Jan,
who excelled at writing about her family clan,
unafraid to include observations of her man,
and where her love of writing poetry began…
The personal truths of womanhood
were coupled with tales of childhood
with more than a nod to adulthood
not ever presented by Hollywood!
The word-pictures of big droopy tits
proved on the night to be big hits
and
the images of hairy toes & big arses
had us all raising our glasses!
However, for me personally
the evening simply proved,
life at times has no rhyme or reason.
