Lieven Scheire – Artificial Intelligence
12th March 26 – The Swan Theatre, Worcester

Lieven Scheire’s AI show is a brilliantly engaging and surprisingly reassuring dive into a topic that can often feel overwhelming. From the moment he steps on stage, his humour makes the whole subject feel approachable—he’s funny, relaxed, and clearly passionate about making complex ideas understandable.

What really stands out is how accessible his introduction to the mind-boggling world of artificial intelligence is. He manages to break down complicated concepts into something the audience can actually follow, without ever making it feel dumbed down. It’s genuinely fascinating to get a glimpse into the inner workings of AI—how it “thinks,” learns, and evolves—explained in a way that feels both entertaining and informative.

By the end of the show, you walk away feeling slightly less baffled than when you went in, which is no small achievement given the scale and complexity of the topic. Scheire strikes a great balance between education and comedy, keeping the audience engaged throughout.

Perhaps the most comforting takeaway is this: when faced with fears about AI—whether it’s visions of robots taking over the world à la Terminator or dystopian sci-fi scenarios—the best antidote is understanding. Learning about AI makes it feel far less mysterious and intimidating, and Scheire delivers exactly that with warmth, wit, and clarity.
