If sludgy, gut-punching riffs are your thing, Heavy Peace’s debut single Tree Sentinel” demands your attention. Don’t get too cosy with the lyric’s invitation to “take your place by the fire”, the guitars have already kicked the door in. As the band’s first official release, this track takes no prisoners and instantly sets the tone: Heavy Peace aren’t here to mess around, and you’re in for something special.
Hailing from Worcester, Heavy Peace are practically a local supergroup, pulling talent from several well-known area bands. Frontman Ruben Seabright delivers the raw, powerful vocals fans will recognise from his relentless gigging and the many open-mic nights he hosts. He’s joined by guitarist Jack Noir and drummer Richard Chaudhury (both from The Jericho Racks), plus Jamie Raynor of Chevy Chase Stole My Wife on bass. Despite being a new project, the group has already hit the stage multiple times and wasted no time getting into the studio – proof that they’re serious and aiming high.
Heavy Peace are definitely a band to watch and have household-name potential written all over them.
Their next single, “Worm of Dread”, drops on October 31st. Give them a follow and turn them up loud.
