Summertime Blues Rock returns to Beckford, Tewkesbury this July with a 3 day blues-rock festival. This is a ‘micro’ festival, limited to just 120 tickets, with camping available directly next to the picturesque village hall where the bands will be playing.
The organisers’ tag line ‘blues rock at it’s finest’ may be a bold claim but it’s one not many would argue with, given that the line up includes Stray (featuring Del Bromham, 60 years after he was a forming member of the band), John Verity (ex-Argent. opened for Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin), Martin Ace (still flying the flag with Man), Norman Watt-Roy (ex Blockheads and with Wilko, now playing with the amazing James Oliver Band) and John B Sparkes (founding member of Dr Feelgood) with his band ‘Sparko’s Going Back Home’.
19 top notch bands and artists are playing in all and, as last year, there is good local representation, including Fair Weather Riders and the Bush Pilots.
