Music Spoken Here Sunday Service with Danni Mayers
The Marr’s Bar, 12 Pierpoint Street, Worcester WR1 1TA
Sunday 29th June 2025, 4:30pm doors for 5pm start

Following an incredible first show with Urban Soul Family last month, ‘Sunday Service’ returns to The Marr’s Bar on Sunday 29th June with summer reggae vibes and urban soul from Birmingham-based singer Danni Mayers, performing her original songs and a few covers with her full band.

Danni was born in Manchester and moved to Birmingham over 20 years ago. She has carved out a career as a session vocalist recording and performing with or supporting a vast array of artists from around the globe including Loose Ends, Omar, The Lisa Marie Experience, Tippa Irie, Susan Cadogan Sugar Minott, Luciano, Backyard Dog, Sixth Revelation, Etana and Beenie Man.

Danni says she writes “about everyday topics which everyone can relate to, whether it’s love, friendship, social issues or that Monday feeling; we have all experienced it”. Her music has been described as a meeting of Jean Carne, Bob Marley and Erykah Badu in an urban UK city.

This will be the second of a two-show pilot for the new ‘Sunday Service’ series from local promoter Music Spoken Here that aims to develop a new audience in the city for soul, gospel, RnB and reggae, following the success of the promoter’s jazz, funk and fusion program that has now been running over three years at the Worcester venue with gigs on the second and fourth Thursday of each month. If this event is well supported, Music Spoken Here intend to continue the program in the Autumn with shows on the last Sunday of each month.

Doors open at 4:30pm for a 5pm start. Admission is ‘pay what you can’ on the door, with a suggested contribution of £12.
