Worcester Paint Festival – Saturday 20 September 2025
Worcester Paint Festival (WPF) returns for one day of activity on Saturday 20 September. Expect to see brand new murals from International names in the Street Art scene, not just in the city centre, and local parks but reaching into our communities.
For 2025, WPF brings established and emerging street artists as well as graffiti writers from the city and beyond. This year’s headliners include two standout International names from the scene: SATR and Sophi Odling.
Chinese artist SATR, known for her powerful, graphic style, brings a unique, brand new mural to the back of the Severn View Hotel on Newport Street, right in the city centre near the river. We are very excited about this. The piece is sponsored by WLZ Tutors. With a distinct aesthetic rooted in traditional graffiti and contemporary design, SATR’s work brings depth and vibrancy to urban spaces; a truly unique approach to nature. WLZ Tutors are a Worcestershire student-centered learning provision for all abilities.
Sophi Odling, over in the UK from Australia, paints bold, layered murals that often centre on identity and social themes. She will be painting at Tolladine Community Hub, sponsored by Platform Housing, who have supported the festival since the beginning helping us to delve into our communities. Sophi’s large-scale portraits are emotionally charged and filled with energy, and her work in Tolladine is set to become a key piece in this year’s festival, bringing something special for the community there, and the rest of us too.
2025 sees a continuation of our real commitment to communities, with this year’s activities including the H&W Health and Care NHS Trust Warndon Clinic who sponsored us to deliver a mural at the site for the festival. And Tolladine Community Hub where we ran a workshop with local young people over the summer, talked about graffiti history, and consulted with local residents about the forthcoming mural there.
Additionally, there’s even more community-led creativity via two projects delivered in partnership with local schools and funded by Platform Housing Group. With their own murals to enjoy, in June, Chroma Chameleons ran a session with pupils at Perrywood Primary in Ronkswood, developing ideas to create a joyful mural thinking about the word ‘Imagine’. This October, Zed in the Clouds will work with Hollymount Primary in Tolladine, bringing young imaginative ideas to life in a new playground piece.
Natasha Stolt, Director of WLZ Tutors said
“As one of the main sponsors of Worcester Paint Festival, WLZ Tutors is proud to support creativity and community spirit alongside our dedication to inclusive education. At WLZ Tutors, we are committed to nurturing potential through purposeful, supportive, and student-centred tuition. We believe that tutoring isn’t just about catching up. It’s about unlocking what’s already there. WPF aligns with our values in promoting unique individual talent.”
Looking at the rest of the line up, a world renowned name, true veteran of the scene, and festival supporter Inkie returns with a brand new mural on the gates to The Painting House at Royal Porcelain Works, bringing his signature font style back to Worcester. And as something really special, he’ll be painting a plate or two at the Museum of Royal Worcester, a lovely partnership between the festival, the artist and one of the city’s most well known, and longest standing industries. He’ll also be painting up on the legal wall.
Long-time legend, Bristol’s Andy Council will be adding his iconic style to The Conservatory on Friar Street, under new ownership. Andy will be in the back yard over the weekend. Lucas Antics, known for their playful, colourful nature, creatures and uplifting humour will be painting at the NHS Warndon Clinic on Cranham Drive adding a vibrant splash to the everyday, turning the clinic into a beacon of community colour. (Please note that the back part of this mural is in the car park to the site, and only accessible on Sat 20th Sept. This will be for patients and staff. You can still see the front section all year round.)
You can find Kid Acne, down from Sheffield, a long-time favourite in the scene, bringing his bold illustrative forms to Cripplegate Park. Next to him will be street artist Doppel based in London, with his dreamy photorealistic imagery and form. Zedsy pops up (literally) with his stencil style at Friary Walk Shopping Centre (formerly Crowngate). Look up! Sweetheart Streetart is painting in Gheluvelt Park with her vibrant wildlife, close to a piece earlier in the year from Curate, a young graffiti writer from the city, celebrating the park and the new Kepax Bridge.
And of course, celebrating graffiti writing, we welcome the all power, all female RBF Crew, in their 10th anniversary year, including the sublime talents of Pekoe, Wispa, Unity, Niebla, Lupa, Luxe, Veil & Aiza along the riverside footpath by Diglis Island, thanks to Canal & Rivers Trust. Then up at Sixways Legal Wall, be prepared to be wowed by the veteran Worcester writers KFO crew and guests refreshing the large production wall and more for 2025. Including PHE, Zeeizm, Kask, Sore, Spar, Knel, WWF (Wizards With Funk) Crew, Buser, (OSK Bristol), Inkie, (KTS, ASK Bristol), Such, (ACT Sheffield), Rob Dise (TWC, Worcester) Merk, B-One, Frank Brough, Umix, Abour.
WPF is a buzzing, vibrant event for people to be wowwed and inspired. We celebrate and work with street, graffiti and mural artists and aim to be accessible and inclusive, welcoming of all people, offering murals for the enjoyment of all!
The murals will be available for years to come, hopefully. So if you can’t make the 20th, don’t panic.
