After establishing herself with a series of acclaimed thrillers, Dunant returned in 2000 to her enduring passion for history—particularly the Italian Renaissance. This shift has defined much of her later work, blending meticulous research with vivid storytelling. Her latest novel, The Marchesa, vividly reimagines the life and influence of Isabella d’Este—one of the Renaissance’s most formidable women—depicting her as a pioneering art collector, astute political operator, and cultural powerhouse at the heart of a transformative era.

Sarah will be speaking in The Studio at Artrix, Slideslow Drive, Bromsgrove, B60 1GN at 7.30.p.m on Wednesday, April 22nd – there is free parking.

Tickets are £15 each, plus a £1.25 booking fee per ticket, and can be obtained via the Artrix Box Office, either in person or via its website.
