Welcome to a World of Creative Possibilities

Elmslie House is a small but thriving independent arts venue in the heart of Great Malvern. Regular art exhibitions and twice-yearly Blue Magpie Contemporary Craft Fairs are already popular fixtures in the Elmslie calendar but as Elmslie moves into their eighth year, there’s another creative venture on offer – Elmslie Creates weekend craft workshops.

Elmslie Creates workshops, which were launched last year, have been described as ‘a spa day but with creativity at its heart’. They were designed to fit alongside the regular week-day art classes that already run at the House during term times, but also to provide a link to maker’s who exhibit at Blue Magpie Fairs.

As Elmslie was once part of Lawnside School for Girls it seems fitting that its rooms are once again being used for teaching and alive with the buzz of those who love art and craft, honing new skills or beginners learning new ones. With the demise of several key recreational course providers over recent years, the team at Elmslie are keen to support both local teachers and students alike to keep Malvern’s long tradition of arts and crafts learning alive.

Here’s what’s coming up in the next few weeks:

Feb 11th – Wire Sculptures with Sarah Ling

Feb 12th –   Inspired by Klimt with Angie Hughes

March 11th &12th Embellishing Lino Printed Designs on Fabric with Louise Nichols

All of our courses are small artist-led groups offering all the tuition you need to get started with a new craft or hobby. You’ll also get refreshments and a two course lunch included, as well as all materials.
