Fretblanket

It’s been 30 years since alternative 90s rockers Fretblanket signed a world-wide major label record deal with Polydor in 1992. To mark the occasion the band are going out for two shows they are finally to release their third album with songs originally recorded more than 20 years ago.
Fretblanket first made their mark after becoming Single of the Week in the NME. At a mere 17 years old, and having established a reputation for blistering live performances the band were on the radar of several record labels. To remind us what we have been missing, the band head out for two reunion shows, first in London on April 12th in London at The Lexington, Islington followed by Kidderminster (near their hometown of Stourbridge).
It’s been a challenge as half the band now live in the US, but as singer Will Copley said “we couldn’t be more excited about getting back on stage and in front of an audience”.
Fretblanket’s emotionally charged anthems proved a hit with audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. US tours saw the band performing with the likes of Radiohead, Weezer and The Black Crowes, whilst MTV lapped up the videos of track such as “Into the Ocean” .
