Yew Trees Artist Studios

Twelve months ago, three local artists combined their talent to form Yew Trees Artist Studios at Bevere Gallery in the north of Worcester.

Mixed media artist Susan Birth, artist and photographer Richard Nicholls and abstract painter Dan Holden joined together to create and display their diverse art works in a small gallery beside their studios.   The artists have already extended the premises adjacent to their gallery and have plans for the future to utilize the space for events and workshops.

The open airy style of the studios offers visitors an insight into the working life of artists.  Susan Birth said, “It’s been a great first year. Although the creation of art can sometimes be a solitary activity, the three of us have a great passion for sharing our work.  Between lockdowns we’ve loved welcoming visitors to our studios and exhibition space, chatting about our processes, techniques and practices and explaining the inspiration behind our work.  We’re pleased to report that our customer base has grown steadily over the year and many items of original contemporary artwork have found their way to the homes of local collectors.”

Kim Taylor, co-owner of Bevere Gallery, said, “In what has been an unusual year, it is fabulous to see Yew Trees Artist Studios going from strength to strength. The wooded seating area in which the studios are set is definitely enhanced by the artists’ presence.”

Yew Trees Artist Studios opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. Facebook: @YewTreesArtistStudios, Instagram @yewtreesartiststudios
