Music Spoken Here Sunday Service with Onika Venus
The Marr’s Bar, 12 Pierpoint Street, Worcester WR1 1TA
Sunday 26th October 2025 @ 4:30pm
Jamaican singer and songwriter Onika Venus is set to perform at The Marr’s Bar in Worcester on Sunday 26th October.
Onika Venus was introduced to live music at an early age in her home village of Resource in South Manchester, Jamaica and quickly learnt that music reaches people in a way that nothing else does. Ever since her first performance, her soulful voice and reggae style has been capturing the hearts of audiences across continents.
She has worked with Seanie B, Tubby T and Miss Dynamite and, under the stage name Lady Posh fronted the band Slyde, who were nominated for Best Live Act (2007) and Best Album (2008) in the International Breakbeat Awards.
Now living in Gloucestershire, Onika’s unique vocal style and outstanding musicianship entertains audiences across the UK. Her original music includes elements of old-school reggae, RnB, pop and funk.
In 2021 she released her debut solo album ‘Everything You Are’, followed by her second album ‘Midnight Remedy’ in 2023
Her appearance at The Marr’s Bar marks the fourth show in a new “Sunday Service” program of events on the last Sunday of the month featuring soul, gospel, RnB and reggae. The program was started in May by local promoter Music Spoken Here, the organisation behind the successful fortnightly “Kind of Jazz” program at the same venue on Thursday evenings, now in its fourth year. The program has already seen The Urban Soul Family, Danni Mayers and Elle-J Walters perform for the first time in Worcester. Doors open at 4:30pm and Onika Venus and her band will be on stage from 5pm. Admission is £12 on the door. For more information visit the Music Spoken Here website.
