The ‘Enough to see… but not enough to see by’ Showcase
10th to 17th June
Bevere Gallery, Worcester WR3 7RQ

The Showcase exhibition can be seen throughout the Bevere Gallery site, in the studio spaces and in the café under the header boards. You will find artwork and writing from the Open Call and the work of our 5 studio artists and 5 Worcestershire Poets Laureate on display. There will be a celebration event, readings and prize giving on 17th June to end the Showcase.

This exciting collaborative project between Worcestershire LitFest, Yew Trees Artist Studios and Bevere Gallery is supported and sponsored by The Arts Society Worcester. ‘Enough to See’ is a not-for-profit project encouraging creativity in Worcestershire.

Painting from Enough to see but not enough to see

Our project has developed in three stages:

In January/February 2023 the 5 Yew Trees Artists and 5 Worcestershire Poets Laureate created artwork and writing in response to the theme with their work displayed in the studios at Bevere Gallery from the end of February.

An Open Call was launched on 5th March for Worcestershire creatives to respond either directly to the theme or to the exemplar artworks/writing and take their inspiration from these works. The Open Call ended on 23rd April with images of the artwork/writing submitted for judging.

The final stage is the Showcase exhibition and event. The Open Call entries for artwork have been judged by The Arts Society Worcester and those for poetry/writing by Emily Rose Galvin, the former Staffordshire Poet Laureate. Prize winners are marked next to their work. All prizes have been funded by The Arts Society Worcester. An Anthology of writing and artwork will also be produced to mark the event – look for the “A” next to the work to see which pieces have been included.
