Worcester Repertory Company Presents: The Three Musketeers
Wednesday 10th – Sunday 21st July
The Commandery Gardens Worcester
Worcester’s favourite outdoor theatre event is back with a classic and daring adventure, The Three Musketeers, originally written by Alexandre Dumas. Performed by the Worcester Repertory Company, this well-known story is sure to be a fun occasion for everyone to enjoy in the idyllic setting of The Commandery gardens.
The Three Musketeers is a story that’s been made into countless TV shows, films and animations over the years, following a brave young man as he seeks to join the infamous and honourable Musketeers who must save France from the evil powers within. This version adapted by Paul Milton, Creative Director at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham, promises to be all the above and a very entertaining, action-packed and funny event – running from Wednesday 10th – Sunday 21st July.
Theatre-lovers who attended the Worcester Rep’s production of ‘Pride and (Quite A Lot Of) Prejudice’ (2019) at The Commandery, may recognise Alexandra Whitworth and Charlie Ryan who will be performing once again in this Summer’s production. Also returning, after playing the much-loved Silly Billy in ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’ (2023-24) is Nathan Blyth, along with Rob Holman, who previously played Friar Laurence in ‘Romeo and Juliet’ (2023) and Hollie Christian-Brookes, who performed in the Worcester Rep’s most recent production of ‘The Three Little Pigs’ (2024).
These talented actors, led by Director Owen Harper (Romeo & Juliet 2023), will have the exciting challenge of playing 17 different characters. From favourites like the young D’Artagnan, the wicked Lady de Winter (or Milady), to the Duke of Buckingham and Cardinal Richelieu – and of course the courageous Musketeers. We’re excited to see the quick costume change from D’Artagnan to Constance!
This year marks the Worcester Repertory Company’s 17th outdoor theatre production at The Commandery, where theatregoers from across Worcestershire are encouraged to bring their picnics, drinks and garden chairs as they indulge in some fantastic theatre. If you’re looking for something different to do this summer, we strongly recommend outdoor theatre at the Commandery!
