Gig Preview: Aliens & Demons
21st November – The Boar’s Head, Kidderminster
Admission: Free – Music until 2am
The wonderfully chaotic Aliens & Demons is back at The Boar’s Head, Kidderminster, promising another night of alternative music, heavyweight speakers and dancefloor mischief. Best of all, admission is completely free, with proceedings continuing until 2am.
Headlining the event is Jon the Dentist, representing Stay Up Forever Records, while Minge the Merciless arrives with a new subwoofer outfit, The Voods, promising to bring some serious low-end pressure to proceedings.
There is also a welcome return for Naked Remedy, reformed with some original members and a new sound discovered somewhere out in the Tundra. For this one-off appearance, they will be unleashing a set of heavy psychedelic rock, with Dave Small apparently promising broken drumsticks along the way.
Providing the punk and alternative rock credentials are Rebel and The Banned, bringing their trademark high-energy live performance to the evening.
On the decks, Shuddervision Soundsystem will be represented by Digits and Jon Hodgson of Abyss Radio, alongside a suitably substantial speaker set-up. Bringing the night towards its 2am conclusion, The Noise Enforcement terrors, DJ Sum Random and DJ 5am, will deliver an eclectic selection of face-melting dance music, including some cleverly crafted original material.
As the organiser cheerfully puts it, “that’s enough guff. Please come.” There’s also the small matter of a 49th birthday to celebrate, giving everyone another excuse to get involved.
Expect punk, psychedelia, electronic beats and plenty of noise, all under one roof. No tickets, no excuses – just turn up and join the mayhem.
