Celebrations all round for the Volunteer Trustees at Bromsgrove Community Arts as the lease and operating agreement at Artrix, Bromsgrove, was finalised, agreed, and signed this week.

The short-term agreement will kick off on Monday 1st April and will see the much-loved venue wholly managed by volunteers until the end of the year.

Theatre companies, local groups, and businesses have been securing bookings to hire spaces in the arts centre over the past few months, with the first events scheduled for next week.

The acclaimed film “The Shamrock Spitfire” will grace the opening night of Bromsgrove Community Arts’ residency on Wednesday 3rd April. To enhance the atmosphere for arriving guests, the local singing trio Vintage Class will serenade with songs from the 1940s. The foyer bar will be open for pre-show drinks and ice cream. The team has confirmed that the venue will transition to a cashless system from 1st April. The film will also be screened on Thursday 4th in the evening. Find out more.

On Friday 5th the 178 Comedy Club will get the audience laughing out loud. Find out more

BCA Chair Kyle Daisley said “I’m thrilled we got the agreement over the line and signed. This is a huge achievement, and I would like to personally thank everyone for their hard work and dedication. With the support of the local community, we can make Artrix a success and keep it open. I urge everyone to visit the website and book tickets for a show!”

Tickets can be booked on the website and the box office will be open for in person sales (times to be confirmed via social media).

An agreement has been reached to make car parking at the venue free for those visiting the venue – just turn up and park – no ticket required!
