For anyone that’s been reading Slap Magazine online over the past few months, they’ll know just how much we’re loving Darla Jade. Returning with her latest single, ‘Forget You Not’ is a meaningful number straight from the heart. Known for her distinctive electro-pop side and heartfelt tracks, the new release takes inspiration from Darla’s nan, who had been at the beginning of battling the thought of attending assessments for dementia.
Co-written with Alex Hart and Mark Smith (Darla’s producer), Forget You Not took a while to until it made it’s final steps. Written over 2 years and even a flight to Thailand to complete the track at Karma Sound Studios, the new release is passionate and not afraid to speak the truth.
Darla stated that,“I’ve sung Forget You Not a few times live prior to release, each time I have it’s really moved people and given those who have been affected by dementia a way to open up about their own personal experiences. Dementia is such a horrible illness and I want to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s Society.”
‘Forget You Not’ is emotional and something that will make you feel. Sadly relatable, the emotive single draws you in with it’s tear-jerking message. Darla Jade is destined to be a household name in no time.
