Worcester Film Festival & Artists Clubhouse annual art trail
Worcester Film Festival and Artists Clubhouse are thrilled to invite residents and visitors to explore art and movies in a whole new way.
Lights, Camera…Paint is a film inspired art trail, made up of local creatives who this year explored the theme “Severn On Screen”, a celebration of water through the lens of film. Whether drawing inspiration from a beloved story set on or near water, or reimagining Worcester’s own waterside locations through a cinematic eye, the brief was left open to bold, personal, and unexpected interpretations.
The trail is celebrating its fifth year and returning to Worcester’s city centre from 29th August all the way through until 27th September. Twenty pieces of art have been selected through a competition process with an extra 5 created by local charities and community groups encouraging people from all walks of life to get involved with creativity.
This year there is also a special prize to celebrate the life of local resident Morgaine Wilkinson who tragically passed away earlier this year. Founder of Artists Clubhouse explained “Morgaine was a wonderful and powerful member of our community, who embraced the healing powers of creativity as part of her own journey through struggling with a new found disability. Her loss was very hard for all who got to know her and we really wanted to cherish her memory through a new award as part of the trail; for the Morgaine Community Award we’ve selected an art trail entrant and member of our creative community who has embraced our ethos fully and challenged themselves in both our workshops and events across the last year.”
Kirstie, Co-Director of Worcester Film Festival added “Lights, Camera…Paint is built on the belief that creativity belongs to everyone. No prior experience is needed; beginner and professional artists alike are included in the trail, with a focus on being creative for the joy of the process and creating community.”
