A night of atmospheric post‑punk, shoegaze textures and underground alternative rock heads to The Sunflower Lounge on Saturday 7th November as Scottish four‑piece Insider Trading headline, joined by special guests Mvnich and Drave.
Emerging from Edinburgh’s thriving underground scene, Insider Trading have built a reputation as one of Scotland’s most captivating live bands. Their sound sits at the crossroads of post‑punk, post‑rock, shoegaze and slowcore, weaving together layers of texture, dynamics and emotional weight into songs that feel both intricate and immediate.
Their latest EP, From Leith to New York, showcases the band’s ability to balance delicate, introspective passages with crashing crescendos, creating music that unfolds with patience and precision before erupting into moments of cathartic intensity. It’s a sound that draws on many of the themes and aesthetics currently shaping the UK alternative underground while carving out a distinctive identity of its own.
Having toured extensively and shared stages with some of the UK’s most exciting emerging artists, Insider Trading continue to grow their reputation through immersive live performances that combine emotional depth with a powerful sense of atmosphere.
Joining them are Coventry trio Mvnich (pronounced Munich), whose sound brings together post‑punk grit, blues swagger and indie‑rock energy. Known for dynamic live shows that move between angular heaviness and melodic, psychedelic passages, the band have become a familiar name across the Midlands circuit.
Opening the evening are Drave, whose post‑punk edge provides the perfect introduction to a bill built around intensity, tension and atmosphere.
A Saturday night of expansive alternative music, brooding textures and emotionally charged performances awaits at The Sunflower Lounge. For fans of post‑punk, shoegaze and the darker corners of modern guitar music, this is a lineup not to miss.
