National Theatre Youth Festival

National Theatre Youth Festival
Sat 1st – Mon 3rd April
Swan Theatre, Worcester

Worcester Theatres is thrilled to declare that the upcoming NT Connections 2023 festival will be held in partnership with the Swan Theatre in April, marking the venue’s debut as a partner location.

Established over 28 years ago, NT Connections is the National Theatre’s annual youth theatre festival that unites gifted young people from across the UK. This year, the festival will take place for the first time in the region at the Swan Theatre. For three days in April, local youth theatres, schools, and young companies will showcase a collection of 10 brand new and exciting plays, exclusively written for Connections by some of the most prominent UK playwrights. In addition to their performances, the participants of the festival will expand their creative skills by attending various writing, dance, and poetry workshops, facilitated by local experts in the theatre industry.

The Swan Theatre’s lineup of performers includes the University of Worcester, Perfect Circle, Stagedoor Learning, Cheltenham Bournside School, King Edward VI Five Ways School, Worcester Youth Theatremakers, The Chantry School, The Kings Company, as well as Worcester Theatres’ own Young Rep. Following their successful production of “Samphire” at the Swan Theatre in March, the Young Rep cast is eager to return for the festival.

Make sure to come along and show your support for these brilliant theatre makers of the future on Sat 1st – Mon 3rd April at the Swan Theatre.

Tickets are available for each performance, or you can get an ‘All Day Pass’ to see all the performances happening that day.
