It is with a heavy heart that we read the announcement that Nozstock 2024 will be the farewell edition. The challenges posed by the financial aftermath of COVID, coupled with the on going cost-of-living crisis, have made the prospect of continuing the festival too great a risk.
We find ourselves reflecting on an incredible journey that spans 26 years, filled with laughter, music, and unforgettable moments. Nozstock has been more than just a festival; it’s been a gathering of kindred spirits, a celebration of music and community that has left an indelible mark on our hearts.
The decision to bring this chapter to a close was not made lightly by the team, but as the saying goes, all good things must come to an end.
Nozstock has always been an independent event, organisers say while there are changes they could make to keep it going, they believe in maintaining the essence of what has made Nozstock so special. Altering the festival to mitigate financial risks would compromise the very fabric of the event we all know and love. Therefore, the difficult decision to open the gates to Nozstock for the final time in 2024 has been made.
The Nozstock family have expressed their deepest gratitude to every performer who graced their stages, every trader who filled bellies with delicious treats, and most importantly, the incredible crew; the heartbeat of Nozstock, the driving force behind the scenes, and the reason this festival has flourished for nearly three decades.
In a statement Pete Nosworthy said
“We want to thank each and every one of you for your support over the years. For the wonderful feedback that made us smile, the vision of 5000 people swaying in the Orchard. You made a drum n bass loving farmer very happy and created a Nozstock family that meant the world to us. But as one door closes, another one opens. While Nozstock as we know it will bid farewell, we are excited about the future and the new possibilities that lie ahead. In a statement from The Cabinet of Lost Secrets Stage organiser, Kate Cox said
“It’s with a big heavy heart we share this! Nozstock is the best family, the best festival vibes, and we love you all! So, 2024 is the last ever Cabinet of Lost Secrets, thank you to everyone who has supported us, played with us, built us and partied with us since 2015 and we demand that you come party hard with us again, just one last time… We love you!”
