50th Anniversary Event
Newland, Malvern on Monday, May 8th, 2023
Held at Newland on the Monday 8th May bank holiday between 2-5pm with a DJ playing before local band The Delray Rockets who perform on the main stage. A local acoustic group will be entertaining in between on the smaller stage.
Amplified Sound, a full-time service company that provides sound equipment for events. The company was founded by former Malvern Chase pupil Barrie Smith in 1973, having previously worked with various theatres including the Worcester Repertory Company.
Smith’s love for theatre and events led him to start Amplified Sound as a part-time venture with a small set of speakers and an amplifier. Over the years, the company has grown and now has a good order book and 50 years of work under its belt.
Amplified Sound has worked with several councils including Wandsworth, St. Helens, Cheltenham Town, Prestbury, and Droitwich for their city and remembrance day services. The company has also provided sound equipment for larger events such as Bromyard Gala, Welland Steam Rally, Tenbury and Hanbury Country Shows. Additionally, Amplified Sound has provided equipment for smaller events such as MappFest and WooFest. They not only provided not only the sound for Worcester City Council’s Victorian Christmas Fair, but also supplied radio announcements for the Police using the Police station as a base.
The event at Newlands will be attended by customers, staff and suppliers both past and present but a small number of tickets are available to anyone who can answer the following question: How many companies have Amplified Sound acquired during their 50 year journey? The answer can be found at amplifiedsound.co.uk and should be emailed to email@example.com . The winners will be chosen at random and notified via email by the end of April 2023.
