A huge night of soaring indie anthems and rising‑star songwriting lands at The Victoria on Friday, 8th May, as Apollo Junction headline, joined by special guest Gemma Ballam.

Fresh from the success of their charting album ‘What In The World’, which hit Number 6 on the Record Store Chart and Number 8 on the Independent Album Chart, Apollo Junction arrive in Birmingham riding a wave of momentum. Known for their genre‑blurring sound, euphoric choruses and high‑energy live shows, the band are using this run of intimate UK dates to debut new material alongside fan favourites.

Their reputation continues to grow, with a summer of major festivals and outdoor shows supporting Richard Ashcroft on the horizon, a testament to their status as one of the UK’s most exciting live acts. Expect a set packed with big hooks, emotional lift and the kind of communal, arms‑in‑the‑air moments that define great indie nights.

Opening the evening is Birmingham‑based indie‑rock artist Gemma Ballam, originally from the Scottish Highlands and quickly becoming one of the region’s most compelling new voices. Her music blends honest, vulnerable lyricism with agile vocals and intoxicating guitar lines, creating songs that feel both intimate and instantly memorable.

Her three singles released in early 2024 marked the start of a promising ascent, with more music expected in 2026. Fans of Paramore, Julia Wolf and The 1975 will find plenty to love in her polished yet emotionally raw sound.

A powerful double‑bill of anthemic indie and heart‑on‑sleeve songwriting that’s perfect for anyone who wants their Friday night filled with big melodies, big feelings and the thrill of seeing rising artists up close.
