Evesham, so much more than a market town…
The open fire in the Red Lion’s snug is even more popular now the nights are drawing-in. The swollen Avon flows languidly under Workman’s bridge and pleasure cruisers are more infrequent this time of year. The time-polished Almonry is framed by russet and ochre leaves and sits, with a quiet dignity, braced against the cold. The counter at steamy-windowed Monica’s is even busier, as the prospect of cooking tea seems inconceivable in the autumn. During these tail-end months we all need something to look forward to…
Evesham Record Fair is returning to the timeless Bengeworth Club on Sunday November 26th running from 10am until 3pm. We can’t promise a blazing fire, however, a warm welcome is guaranteed at the door. Moreover, we can promise a languid Sunday with five hours to browse through records, literature, CDs and an opportunity to chat about music and the enduring impact. The time-proved sellers & dealers are a friendly bunch and the atmosphere is one of conviviality. Our Fair is no “political hot-potato,” on the contrary, the event is nearly as satisfying as cod and chips, sat alongside the Bell Tower, overlooking the pleasure gardens in the evening summer sun. Sadly, we will have to wait for this summery banquet…
Fortunately, we don’t have to wait too long for the next Evesham Record Fair. The bar will be open for teas, coffees and something stronger if required? The Music will be loud, diverse but not imposing and designed to complement the day. There is ample parking at the rear of the Club accessible down the left hand side. Entry is via the front door for a paltry £1.
Evesham Record Fair always looks forward to returning to the Bengeworth club. The dealers genuinely enjoy the camaraderie, conviviality and easy-going chats. Nestled in the residential area as the Bengeworth club is, so much a part of the locale, all anyone really wants is a sense of belonging?
