Asbestos Farmer – Meink

After the hugely successful launch in February, Friday April 7th sees the 2nd WVFRMS instalment with a great line up of Experimental Techno, Drone and ambient IDM.

With performances from Ludlow’s techno beast Asbestos Farmer, local electronic producer Stu McGoo, Birmingham cinematic drone act By Bizarre Hands and ambient IDM artist Polakov, the night is sure to be eclectic and unique.

Hailing from Ludlow, Asbestos Farmer is Ben Sparrow aka Treffy Clawd, Rhythmical 5th, amongst other aliases, brings an arsenal of sounds encompassing immersive IDM with a nod to progressive leftfield house and techno, which is both uplifting and intense. Ben has been making electronic beats for 30 years and by now should be giving it up … but his stubbornness prevails and he is still at it today…his style is eclectic and up tempo.

Electronic producer Stu McGoo (Flam and Flange / Dog With A Bone Records) delivers lo-fi flavours and experimental techno soundscapes inspired by artists like The Chromatics, Carw, Apparat and Ital Tek. Follow Stu McGoo on Bandcamp for past releases, the new single “Persephone”, due to be released on April 1st 2023 in collaboration with The Arboretum, and his new album “Old God”, to be released later in 2023.

Birmingham’s By Bizarre Hands creates dark drone with a huge cinematic and industrial sound. It’s creator, Rob Arthur has been creating music in Birmingham’s experimental and noise scene for a number of years.

Polakov is a live sample based experimental musical project that combines sequenced electronic sources, found sound, electro-acoustic noise and tape loops to create new musical stories. Exploring the space between chance and repetition, sounds combine to create unique patterns that are uniquely linked to a point in time.
