A night of experimental electronics, alt‑pop strangeness and theatrical noise storms into The Victoria on Wednesday, 20th May, as TAMIW headline, joined by special guests Dead Happy.

Tokyo‑via‑Osaka left‑field outfit TAMIW began in 2018 as the creative project of vocalist Tami, quickly establishing themselves as one of Japan’s most intriguing underground acts. Their debut album ‘Flower Vases’ arrived the same year, followed by a 20‑date US tour in 2019 and their second album ‘Future Exercise’ in 2020, all laying the groundwork for a sound that blends bass‑heavy electronics, hip‑hop textures, analogue synths and a refined sense of alternative balance.

Since 2020, the band have produced their work at Hidden Place, a recording studio housed inside a temple in Osaka’s Sakai City, a setting that mirrors their off‑kilter, atmospheric approach.

TAMIW – Pure Psycho Girl

With the addition of Taichi in late 2023, TAMIW entered a new era, one that culminates in their brand‑new fourth album ‘Farewell Party’, released this May. Expect a set full of warped beats, hypnotic vocals, deep‑cut sampling and the kind of genre‑bending electronics that feel both intimate and otherworldly.

If Frankenstein formed a band, it would sound like Dead Happy. Led by the eccentric Professor Partorius, they don’t write songs; they conduct experiments. Their sound pulls from Mindless Self Indulgence, System of a Down and Electric Six, fusing industrial chaos, theatrical humour and high‑voltage weirdness into something gloriously unhinged. A perfect contrast to TAMIW’s sleek electronic world‑building.

A Wednesday night packed with avant‑electronic energy, theatrical oddities and experimental noise, ideal for anyone who loves live music that pushes boundaries, bends genres and refuses to behave.
